Cat X-Ray

Campbell River Veterinary Hospital has digital x-ray for our clients. Digital x-ray limits the need for repeated x-rays and therefore minimizes radiation to your pet. They also provide a clear picture for the vet to evaluate. We also can send our x-rays to a board-certified radiologist to review.

What is the difference between a cat x-ray and a cat ultrasound?

X-rays use radiation to create an image of bones and soft tissue. Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create an image. Ultrasound can sometimes give a better image and diagnosis of organs and soft tissue. X-rays can confirm bone fractures, bladder stones, and some foreign bodies.

Does the clinic also do feline dental x-rays?

Yes, we do, and we discuss it with you during a talk about your cat’s dental health.
