Your cat’s stool sample will be checked for parasite eggs, which will help your doctor decide the best treatment.

Internal parasites such as hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms.


How is a fecal parasite screen performed?


Your cat’s stool is mixed with a unique solution and then spun in a centrifuge. The technician will then look at it under a microscope for internal parasites.


What is the best method for collecting my cat’s stool?


A fresh sample from your cat’s litter box is the best way. It can be brought to the hospital in a baggy.

With recent changes to restrictions on businesses, we are pleased to advise that effective July 6, patients seeing a Veterinarian will be able to have one family member inside the hospital for the duration of the appointment.
